The University of Rijeka (UNIRI) recently hosted the workshop “Commercialisation of Research Results and the Establishment of Spin-Off Companies”, jointly organized by the UNIRI Department for Innovation and Knowledge Valorisation and STEP RI – Science and Technology Park of the University of Rijeka.
The workshop was part of the INNO2MARE project’s objective to deliver training for ecosystem actors on demand-driven knowledge transfer, with the goal of strengthening innovation capacity within the academic environment. It brought together more than 30 participants, primarily researchers and research management staff from various faculties, who play a key role in supporting commercialisation activities and knowledge valorisation at the University.
Led by UNICO’s experts Vojtech Nosek, Vojtech Kadlec, and Alexander Sirois, the workshop covered essential tools and strategies for successful innovation management — from identifying commercial potential in research and evaluating intellectual property, to market validation and the establishment of spin-off companies.
By hosting initiatives like this, the University of Rijeka continues to foster a strong regional innovation ecosystem and promote collaboration between academia and industry — in the maritime sector and beyond.
