From 9 to 11 October 2024, the annual International Association of Maritime Universities (IAMU) Conference was held at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy in Buzzards Bay, MA, USA. IAMU is the association of 75 world’s leading maritime universities, and the conference gathered more than 200 participants from more than 30 countries.
Progress on the INNO2MARE Pilot project 1 was presented at the conference by the researchers from the Faculty of Maritime Studies Rijeka, Croatia. A lecture, „Advanced CFD Fire Model in Ship Engine Room with VR Integration“, was given as a part of the conference program. Also, a practical demonstration of achieved results was given where participants of the conference waited in line to try the VR application of firefighting training within the ship engine room. Valuable comments for further work were gathered from professionals dealing with maritime education and training on the global scene.
