The Summer Modeling School 2024 took place from August 11 to 17 at the Lodge on Naravske Ledine, beneath the beautiful Uršlja Gora. The camp was attended by 17 young modelers from all over Slovenia, aged between 12 and 15 years.
This year’s modeling task was especially interesting, as the young participants, with the help of dedicated mentors, built a remote-controlled swamp boat. This is a small-draft boat powered by an external propeller, designed to navigate shallow waters, swamps, and even frozen snow. Examples of such boats can be found in online search engines under “swamp boat” or “air boat.” The young participants carved and assembled the boat’s frame, installed the necessary electronic components, and, in the end, tested the boat on a nearby lake.
During the summer school, they created, socialized, and enjoyed recreational or sports games. They also climbed Uršlja Gora and tended the campfire. On the last day, they presented the results of their work to their parents and other visitors.
